Last month, our colleagues showed their support for our VOZ Employee Resource Group with a great turnout at their Hispanic Heritage Month celebration. This impactful event was put on by our VOZ Employee Resource Group, which is open to all employees. VOZ aims to be “the voice” for the Latino community that we serve every day, and helps develop and support our Latino employees and their allies.
The Pachanga, or "Party," was a celebration of this year's Hispanic Heritage Month theme: Prosperity, Power, and Progress.
“I was overwhelmed with happiness and immense pride to see many of our VOZ members coming together to plan this event and celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month. The synergy of our efforts reminded me that unity is the key to preserving our rich Latino culture.” said Michelle Lara Olmos, our CCA Project Specialist, VP of Administration for VOZ and Co-Chair of the Pachanga Planning Team.
VOZ Executive Sponsors, Miguel Romero, Chief Commercial Officer, and Estela de Llanos, Vice President of Land and Environmental Services, provided opening remarks, sharing more about their background and setting the tone for the day.
The celebration provided a fantastic opportunity for employees to come together and experience the rich cultural heritage and vibrant traditions of the Hispanic and Latino communities. Attendees had the chance to enjoy delicious tacos, empanadas, and pan dulce (sweet bread), plus Latino-owned businesses were on-site to showcase their unique offerings of jewelry, crafts and clothing. And to top it off, the event featured a captivating Baile Folklorico dance performance – a highlight of the event.
We are dedicated to building a diverse and inclusive workplace that empowers its employees, enabling them to reach their full potential.
